Is this what the Republican Party has become? Until they completely denounce this kind of behavior at their rallies, they might as well condone it.

By allowing the seething minority of hate-filled sociopaths to vent their anti-Obama fury via constantly televised exposure, the media itself is poised for a plummet not unlike the tumbling economy and the people's collective distrust in its now comically corrupt government. Violent, froth-flecked outbursts are the media's latest fetish and---true to form---the spewers themselves love a lens the way a seal loves a tossed fish. What other entities can simultaneously condemn and exploit the basest, most self-destructive of human instincts (aside from John McCain himself) other than the news/entertinment outlets which have a decidedly low-brow corporate slant on information dissemination? The fomenting of anti-intellectualism and barely controlled hatred in a cornered and confused demographic is no different than shouting "Fire!" in a home for unrepentant pyromaniacs. McCain and Palin's fear mongering and xenophobic shit-stirring is the stuff of Nazi Party putsches and the cameras are trained on them steadier than the ones mounted on tripods at the rear of a Portland bookshop on C-Span. It's no different than TMZ waiting to catch Brittany shaving some part of herself or Paris texting her parole officer. But much worse than such shallow reportage about pop culture clods, the news media is purposefully setting up a political Armageddon in the form of the cultural showdown between Obama and his Hopers and McCain and his Haters. Potentially sky high drama, sky high ratings and sky high casualties. And the hysterical hecklers themselves? Since politics has about he same credibility as a Jerry Springer installment, the yahoos, bigots and trogs who yell "Off with his head!" and "Kill him!" and then immediately take umbrage at the idea that civilized Americans would condemn their behavior just love the attention. It gives them a visceral high as spiked as when they huff WD-40 from their favorite brown paper bag. It provides the illusion that they matter, even if it only for a moment, leaving their mark on the world before they vanish into the ether not by helping humanity or contributing to society, but by linking arms with the same mentality that chains a man to the bumper of a truck and drags him through the streets to his death. And yet, there seems to be a quiet, collective resistance to all the bleating, all the raree. It is as patient as the Democratic nominee himself during the debates, cool and collected while observing Mac launch his sputtering attacks, each salvo falling to the floor with a hollow thud. It's the smart tactic and potentially shows how Obama will govern even the ungovernable mob being stoked by the Republican ticket and the media itself: by reeling out enough rope for the lynchers to hang themselves. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-weber/mavericks-mobs-and-the-ca_b_133932.html John Lewis: "What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama... As public figures with the power to influence and persuade, Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are playing with fire, and if they are not careful, that fire will consume us all. They are playing a very dangerous game that disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy. We can do better. The American people deserve better." - civil rights icon John Lewis on the rhetoric being stoked at McCain-Palin rallies. This video is of Barack Obama giving a speech at a rally & Bill Schneider responding to Senator john Lewis's comments that say McCain & Palin are trying "to sow the seeds of hatred" - and once again that is coming from a Republican Senator. I think everyone now understands McCain, Palin & members of McCain's team have decided that the best way to attack Barack Obama is appeal to peoples fears & try to bring race in to this campaign. Not only is it immoral & sinful, its just plain wrong. The sad facts are even though America has moved on & taken massive strides in the last 25 years, obviously some people still have issues & fears & to try & play on those fars during a politcal campaign is a disgrace. Shame on those who are party to it & I just hope they know they are kissing their careers goodbye. People do have long memories & whats happening now will end up hurting the Repulicans for years to come.

Let me be the latest conservative/libertarian/whatever to leap onto the Barack Obama bandwagon. Its a good thing my dear old mum and pup are no longer alive. Theyd cut off my allowance. Or would they? But lets get that part out of the way. The only reason my vote would be of any interest to anyone is that my last name happens to be Buckley—a name I inherited. So in the event anyone notices or cares, the headline will be: William F. Buckleys Son Says He Is Pro-Obama. I know, I know: It lacks the throw-weight of Ron Reagan Jr. to Address Democratic Convention, but itll have to do. I am—drum roll, please, cue trumpets—making this announcement in the cyberpages of The Daily Beast (what joy to be writing for a publication so named!) rather than in the pages of National Review, where I write the back-page column. For a reason: My colleague, the superb and very dishy Kathleen Parker, recently wrote in National Review Online a column stating what John Cleese as Basil Fawlty would call the bleeding obvious: namely, that Sarah Palin is an embarrassment, and a dangerous one at that. Shes not exactly alone. New York Times columnist David Brooks, who began his career at NR, just called Governor Palin a cancer on the Republican Party. As for Kathleen, she has to date received 12,000 (quite literally) foam-at-the-mouth hate-emails. One correspondent, if thats quite the right word, suggested that Kathleens mother should have aborted her and tossed the fetus into a Dumpster. Theres Socratic dialogue for you. Dear Pup once said You know, Ive spent my entire life time separating the Right from the kooks. I dont have the kidney at the moment for 12,000 emails saying how good it is hes no longer alive to see his Judas of a son endorse for the presidency a covert Muslim who pals around with the Weather Underground. But that was—sigh—then. John McCain has changed. He said, famously, apropos the Republican debacle post-1994, We came to Washington to change it, and Washington changed us. This campaign has changed John McCain. It has made him inauthentic. A once-first class temperament has become irascible and snarly; his positions change, and lack coherence; he makes unrealistic promises, such as balancing the federal budget by the end of my first term. Who, really, believes that? Then there was the self-dramatizing and feckless suspension of his campaign over the financial crisis. His ninth-inning attack ads are mean-spirited and pointless. And finally, not to belabor it, there was the Palin nomination. What on earth can he have been thinking? All this is genuinely saddening, and for the country is perhaps even tragic, for America ought, really, to be governed by men like John McCain—who have spent their entire lives in its service, even willing to give the last full measure of their devotion to it. If he goes out losing ugly, it will be beyond tragic, graffiti on a marble bust. As for Senator Obama: He has exhibited throughout a first-class temperament, pace Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.s famous comment about FDR. As for his intellect, well, hes a Harvard man, though thats sure as heck no guarantee of anything, these days. Vietnam was brought to you by Harvard and (one or two) Yale men. As for our current adventure in Mesopotamia, consider this lustrous alumni roster. Bush 43: Yale. Rumsfeld: Princeton. Paul Bremer: Yale and Harvard. What do they all have in common? Andover! The best and the brightest. Ive read Obamas books, and they are first-rate. He is that rara avis, the politician who writes his own books. Imagine. He is also a lefty. I am not. I am a small-government conservative who clings tenaciously and old-fashionedly to the idea that one ought to have balanced budgets. On abortion, gay marriage, et al, Im libertarian. I believe with my sage and epigrammatic friend P.J. ORourke that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take it all away. But having a first-class temperament and a first-class intellect, President Obama will (I pray, secularly) surely understand that traditional left-politics arent going to get us out of this pit weve dug for ourselves. If he raises taxes and throws up tariff walls and opens the coffers of the DNC to bribe-money from the special interest groups against whom he has (somewhat disingenuously) railed during the campaign trail, then he will almost certainly reap a whirlwind that will make Katrina look like a balmy summer zephyr. Obama has in him—I think, despite his sometimes airy-fairy We are the people we have been waiting for silly rhetoric—the potential to be a good, perhaps even great leader. He is, it seems clear enough, what the historical moment seems to be calling for. http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2008-10-10/the-conservative-case-for-obama

This is the ad we want to run in Louisiana. It was designed to promote the "4 points" and third party candidates that support them. Hopefully, this ad will run in other states as well, so we designed the ad so the ending could be easily changed to support other tickets. The ad is finished, but we still have to pay the remainder of the ad development. The total cost of the project amounted to $2261, which was $739 lower than anticipated! We already raised $304 in a previous chip-in during the "idea stage". This paid for the stock footage we needed, but we still have to pay the remainder to finalize the deal, which amounts to $1957. The producer (Joel Bevacqua) knows that Ron Paul supporters put their money where their mouth is - so let's not delay and get this show on the road! President Bush peeked out the window of the Oval Office yesterday morning at the crowd awaiting him in the Rose Garden, then went back to pacing. He had little reason to be enthusiastic about the task at hand. It was the 20th time in recent days that he had tried to calm the markets, according to a CBS News tally. The previous 19 times, the market ignored him and continued its downward plunge. And this time would be no different. A few minutes before he walked into the Rose Garden to say that "the American people can be confident in our economic future," the Dow Jones industrials were trading as high as 8530. A few minutes after his speech, the index was at 8224. His chore of reassuring the markets thus completed, Bush turned to more pleasant tasks. He hopped on Air Force One and flew down to Florida for the first of the day's two fundraisers. He had some urgent work to do on the Republican Party's liquidity crisis. The country desperately needs strong leadership now, but there's none to be found at the White House. The president is voicing the right sentiments, even if his words (Thursday's "we'll get through this deal") are characteristically clumsy. He's even affecting the right demeanor, between concern and confidence. But nobody seems to care. Maybe it's his approval rating, now trading at pennies on the dollar. Maybe it's because his credibility was shot by his administration's previous claims about Saddam's nukes and yellowcake and cakewalks and being greeted as liberators and mission accomplished. Either way, White House press secretary Dana Perino had some difficulty explaining the president's role as she briefed reporters aboard Air Force One on the way to Florida. "What's the communications strategy for the president on this crisis?" asked the Associated Press's Deb Riechmann. "I mean, we've heard from him almost every single day since the bailout was announced, yet every time he talks, the Dow goes down." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/10/AR2008101002555_2.html?sid=ST2008101002842 The lesson for Americans suffused with anxiety and dread over the crackup of the financial markets is that the way you vote matters, that there are real-world consequences when you go into a voting booth and cast that ballot. For the nitwits who vote for the man or woman theyd most like to have over for dinner, or hang out at a barbecue with, I suggest you take a look at how well your 401(k) is doing, or how easy it will be to meet the mortgage this month, or whether the college fund youve been trying to build for your kids is as robust as youd like it to be. Voters in the George W. Bush era gave the Republican Party nearly complete control of the federal government. Now the financial markets are in turmoil, top government and corporate leaders are on the verge of panic and scholars are dusting off treatises that analyzed the causes of the Great Depression. Mr. Bush was never viewed as a policy or intellectual heavyweight. But he seemed like a nicer guy to a lot of voters than Al Gore. Its not just the economy. While the United States has been fighting a useless and irresponsible war in Iraq, Afghanistan — the home base of the terrorists who struck us on 9/11 — has been allowed to fall into a state of chaos. Osama bin Laden is still at large. New Orleans is still on its knees. And so on.I dont for a moment think that the Democratic Party has been free of egregious problems. But there are two things I find remarkable about the G.O.P., and especially its more conservative wing, which is now about all there is. The first is how wrong conservative Republicans have been on so many profoundly important matters for so many years. The second is how the G.O.P. has nevertheless been able to persuade so many voters of modest means that its wrongheaded, favor-the-rich, country-be-damned approach was not only good for working Americans, but was the patriotic way to go. Remember voodoo economics? That was the derisive term George H.W. Bush used for Ronald Reagans fantasy that he could simultaneously increase defense spending, cut taxes and balance the budget. After Reagan became president (with Mr. Bush as his vice president) the budget deficit — surprise, surprise — soared. In a moment of unusual candor, Reagans own chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, Martin Feldstein, gave three reasons for the growth of the deficit: the presidents tax cuts, the increased defense spending and the interest on the expanding national debt. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/11/opinion/11herbert.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

More and more conservative pundits have come out against John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as a running mate. And as the McCain-Palin rallies become more angry and hate-filled, some are saying McCain and the Republican Party have stoked a class war. New York Times conservative columnist David Brooks called Palin a "fatal cancer on the Republican Party" and wrote a column about her attacks on intellectualism and educated people, which he and other conservative intellectuals see as an attack on them. He wrote a column about the new class war and we talked about it on the show on Friday.

It is also obvious that the person in charge of determining the quote-unquote fairness of this investigation is also an Obama operative. It turns out that the Alaskan State trooper which was fired by Palin for insubordination, Walt Monegan, is very close friends with Hollis French, as well. What's more is that Hollis French lied about his military resume on an Official State of Alaska website. He claims to have served in the marine corps. It turns out, he only ever attended Marine ROTC training. ROTC training is not considered by anyone to be military service. If that were so, many hi-schoolers who have entered ROTC classes would be considered military personnel, and they most certainly aren't. Hollis French never completed Boot Camp and failed to pass the ROTC Platoon Leader Course - thus failing to make the grade to become a Marine Officer. He was nicknamed 'Gunny French' as a condescending reminder of his lie. A nickname that he hates. You know, There are quite a few leftist idiots, Obama supporters who are making the claim that Sarah Palin has been found guilty of wrongdoing. They parrot this nonsense as if it were the truth. We would be idiots to say that someone with deep ties to the Democratic Party, someone with ties to Obama's campaign, Someone with ties to the affected can be considered to be the impartial judge, jury and executioner in a manufactured scandal. Anyone can see this report, this investigation is nothing but a horse and pony show and lies that if oft repeated, become truth in the minds of the weak. The left and Obama have learned this from their hero, Vladimir Lenin. They get away with it, because our mainstream press doesn't report it. Our mainstream media is in the tank for Obama and Obama, his campaign and his supporters use this mis-information effectively. They run their campaign like a third world propaganda machine. We see the anti-free speech truth squads, we see the Alinsky style intimidation tactics, you know, the getting in people's faces which is encouraged by Obama. We see the race-card being played, we see what's happening. It resembles the former Soviet Union..."

AdilFaranj Added: October 09, 2008 John Sidney McCain III (born August 29, 1936) is the senior United States Senator from Arizona and presidential nominee of the Republican Party in the 2008 presidential election. McCain graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. He became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he nearly lost his life in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. In October 1967 while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973, experiencing episodes of torture and refusing an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer; his war wounds left him with lifelong physical limitations. He retired from the Navy as a captain in 1981, moved to Arizona, and entered politics. Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982, he served two terms, and was then elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, winning re-election easily in 1992, 1998, and 2004. While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain at times has had a media reputation as a "maverick" for having disagreed with his party. After being investigated and largely exonerated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s as a member of the "Keating Five," he made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually led to the passage of the McCain-Feingold Act in 2002. He is also known for his work towards restoring diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s, and for his belief that the war in Iraq should be fought to a successful conclusion in the 2000s. McCain has chaired the Senate Commerce Committee, has opposed pork barrel spending, and played a key role in alleviating a crisis over judicial nominations. McCain lost his bid for the Republican nomination in the 2000 presidential election to George W. Bush. He ran again for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, and gained enough delegates to become the party's presumptive nominee in March 2008. McCain was formally nominated at the 2008 Republican National Convention in September 2008, together with his chosen running mate from Alaska, Governor Sarah Palin. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), a 2008 presidential hopeful, has a "dream." The longshot contender, who ran for president in 1988 under the Libertarian Party banner and has vocally protested the war in Iraq, believes that a Paul presidency would "reinstate the Constitution and restore the Republic." "The competition isn't all that great to claim that title here in Washington," Paul said on Fox News Channel regarding his claim to be "the leading advocate for freedom in Washington today." Paul was featured on Fox News Live 's "Because You Asked" segment, which is based on viewer's letters and emails. The letter, which, according to Fox's Bill Hemmer, was one of "hundreds" received by the network, called for "fair and balanced" coverage of Paul's campaign. Viewer Shaun Deimler wrote Fox: "Fair and Balanced? Since Dr. Ron Paul announced his campaign for the Presidency in 2008, not one word on the news. Where are the so called fair and balanced newscasts on Fox? Not a peep." So Fox brought on "the man himself" for an interview. "I wanna be President because I have this dream, I'd like to reinstate the Constitution and restore the Republic," said Paul. "And I think the Republican party and all of Washington have lost their way." Hemmer asked Paul why "sub" or "minor" candidates bothered running if they don't have a chance to win and have problems getting their message out, partially due to their problems at attracting wider media coverage. "Well, there's something different today," Paul said, "and that's the Internet." Paul said the Internet was where he was doing "quite well," although he believes that it's not fair that smaller candidates don't get the major network coverage that they're "entitled" to. "You hear only one message," Paul complained, "and the message seems to be the same whether it's Republican or Democrat." Hemmer sympathized with Paul's difficulties in receiving media exposure, and then ended the segment, which ran for less than three minutes in total. http://www.ghettotube.com/members/profile/11/tugs10197
